Plan pitched to provide access at Fort Pierre reservoir
FORT PIERRE (AP) -- Officials are pitching a plan to provide better fishing and boating access to the Richland Reservoir and dam on the Fort Pierre National Grassland.
The media reports that the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks and the U.S. Forest Service are considering a cluster of structures on the reservoir.
The plan would involve the construction of three circular gravel-based fishing pods, each 26 feet in diameter. A boat ramp also would be built to accommodate small watercraft.
