Susan Wismer to address Davison County Democrats
Susan Wismer, Democratic candidate for governor, will speak to the Davison County Democratic Party on at 7:30 p.m. today at the LifeQuest Building in Mitchell. All are welcome.
Wismer, a Britton native, has served in the South Dakota House of Representatives since 2008. She won her first election in June of 2008.
Wismer has spent most of her life in Britton, where she grew up, got married, started a business and raised her three children.
Wismer strongly opposed the budget cuts the governor enacted in 2011. She believes the state needs to refocus its funding priorities on students, teachers and the elderly.
If Wismer wins the Democratic primary on June 3 she will become the first woman in South Dakota history to receive the nomination for governor from either party.
