Mitchell man sentenced to 2 years probation for rape charge

A Mitchell man received no jail time for committing sexual acts with a juvenile female.

On Tuesday at the Davison County Public Safety Center, 20-year-old Austin Wipf pleaded guilty to fourth-degree rape. He was sentenced to zero days in jail, two years of probation and to pay a fine of $913.

On March 22, Wipf admitted in an interview with law enforcement to having sex with a 15-year-old female juvenile, according to court documents. Wipf stated he had "consensual sex" with the female juvenile approximately four to five times in 2016 when Wipf was 18 years old.

Fourth-degree rape is a Class 3 felony punishable upon conviction by up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
