Kimball teen injured in rollover crash
KIMBALL — Charges are pending against a teenager who was injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash Saturday southeast of Kimball.
A 16-year-old Kimball male was injured while driving a 1990 Chevrolet C1500 pickup eastbound on 252nd Street — approximately three miles southeast of Kimball — when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
The male, whose name was not released because he is a minor, lost control of the vehicle at approximately 12:45 a.m. near the intersection with 364th Avenue. He was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, Mangan said. He was transported to a hospital in Chamberlain.
According to Mangan, alcohol was involved and charges are pending against the teen. There were no passengers in the car, and damage to the vehicle was unknown.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol investigated the crash. The Brule County Sheriff’s Office, Kimball Police Department and Kimball Ambulance assisted at the scene.
