Multiple agencies report Presho fire chief killed battling fire

Autopsy report: Bannwarth died of natural causes

Susanna Bannwarth died of natural causes, according to her certificate of death.

The document, filed Thursday, confirms an autopsy was performed, and that the 64-year-old Fulton woman died at her home on July 21 from acute myocardial infarction, or a heart attack.

Bannwarth was reported missing on July 21 and was found later that morning near Kimball, according to authorities. Authorities have not yet publicly explained the circumstances of her death, or why her body was found in Kimball. Attempts to contact the South Dakota Attorney General's Office were unsuccessful Friday.
