Warrant issued for Illinois man accused of burglary, theft from barn
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Illinois man accused of stealing from the McCook County State's Attorney.
Tyler Massengill, 23, of Peoria, Ill., is charged with third-degree burglary for entering Mike Fink's hoop barn -- an open-ended structure that can be filled with farm implement -- with the intent to commit a crime. He is also charged with three counts of petty theft for taking a bale spear attachment, a mobile home hitch and scrap metal, according to court documents completed by Deputy State's Attorney Roger Gerlach.
The burglary charge is a felony and carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The theft charges are misdemeanors and each carry a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
