Wisconsin woman faces drug charges in Davison County

A Wisconsin woman was arrested earlier this month in Davison County on several drug charges. Sarah Hauser, 31, is accused of possessing marijuana and amphetamine salt pills, a controlled substance. South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Levi Jensen pulled over a vehicle Oct. 14 going 62 in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 90 near Mitchell.

Jensen suspected illegal drug use while speaking with Hauser. She eventually admitted to having marijuana in the back seat, according to Jensen. Jensen reported finding the marijuana along with hydrocodone pills and amphetamine salt pills.

Hauser allegedly said she had a prescription at home for the hydrocodone pills, but no prescription for the amphetamine.

Jensen also reported finding an unidentified white powder inside a tube.

Hauser is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the amphetamine pills, which carries a maximum penalty upon conviction of two years in prison, a $4,000 fine or both. She is also charged with misdemeanors for possessing less than 2 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
