Rapid City woman admits setting fire to fiance's bedroom
RAPID CITY (AP) — A Rapid City woman now acknowledges that she started a fire in her fiance's bedroom.
The Rapid City Journal reports 26-year-old Allison Hedrick pleaded guilty Tuesday to reckless burning.
Hedrick and her boyfriend occupied a bedroom in a home owned by Gary Buckingham. He found his house filled with smoke when he arrived home on Feb. 19. The fire damage was confined to one bedroom, but the whole house suffered smoke damage.
Hedrick could get up to 10 years in prison when she's sentenced on Sept. 24. As part of a plea agreement, an arson charge was dismissed.
