Plankinton man headed to prison for bad checks, failing to register as sex offender
A Plankinton man was sentenced Tuesday to serve two concurrent 14-month sentences in the state penitentiary for writing bad checks and violating his probation by failing to register as a sex offender.
Eric Randall Woods, 26, was given the sentences at the Davison County Public Safety Center in Mitchell.
For the checks charge, Woods was sentenced to pay a fine of $500, $104 in court costs and $4,962 in restitution to Iverson Chrysler Center and $742 to Wise Tire, both of Mitchell. Woods was also ordered to pay court-appointed attorney fees.
For violating his probation by failing to register as a sex offender, Woods was ordered to repay court-appointed attorney fees and any remaining unpaid fines or court costs.
Woods was convicted of third-degree rape in 2005.
