28-year-old man killed in rollover near Delmont
DELMONT -- A 28-year-old man was killed Friday in Douglas County following a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. Highway 18.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said the crash happened on 2 miles south of Delmont at 7:22 p.m. Friday.
The incident occurred when the driver of the 2001 Ford Explorer was traveling west on Highway 18 and lost control of the vehicle. The Explorer left the roadway and rolled several times. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.
The male died as a result of his injuries while being treated at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour. His name has not been released, pending the notification of family members.
The driver was the only person involved. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
