LAKE ANDES — A man sustained several injuries after he was allegedly pushed down a flight of stairs in Lake Andes.

On Dec. 22, a male was visiting a friend in a Lake Andes apartment when 27-year-old Cody Chasing Hawk arrived.

When Chasing Hawk began yelling, the male decided he should leave. He exited the apartment and walked toward the back stairwell to leave the building when he heard the sound of running footsteps behind him. Chasing Hawk then allegedly shoved the male down the stairs.

He sustained a dislocated shoulder, hairline fracture to his ankle and various scrapes and bruises.

Chasing Hawk continued to chase the male down the stairs, so the male got up and ran out the back door, where he stopped a friend's vehicle and was taken home. When the male got home, his father called 911 for an ambulance and tribal police.

Chasing Hawk was charged with aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
