Mitchell Wesleyan feeds hundreds during annual Thanksgiving feast
Beautiful weather outdoors didn't stop hundreds of area residents from gathering inside the Mitchell Wesleyan Church for its annual Thanksgiving meal.
Serving turkey and all the traditional sides often seen on a Thanksgiving table, church officials estimated they would serve approximately 850 to 900 meals Thursday afternoon. And the guests weren't asked to pay a dime.
As usual, church volunteers greeted guests as the entered and offered them a chance at a slice of pie before they left. While the church may not have served quite as many meals as last year's unprecedented 900 to 1,000, there were plenty of smiles to go around.
