South Dakota woman injured in Presho hunting accident
A South Dakota woman was injured recently after shooting herself in the foot.
At approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, a 32-year-old South Dakota woman was shot in the foot by her gun as she was driving north of Presho, according to officials with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish & Parks (GF&P).
As the woman was driving her vehicle scouting for deer, she drove over a bump in the road. The gun discharged and she was struck in the foot. Her husband was a passenger in the vehicle and was not injured. GF&P declined to release the name of the injured woman.
The woman was transported to a hospital in Chamberlain and the extent of her injuries was not disclosed by GF&P officials. The South Dakota Highway Patrol and Chamberlain Police Department also responded. The shooting was investigated by GF&P Conservation Officer Travis March.
