Mount Vernon man pleads not guilty of raping 7-year old boy in exchange for a video game
A man charged with exchanging sexual acts with a 7-year-old for a video game pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Tyler Anthony Dobras, 27, of Mount Vernon, pleaded not guilty to first-degree rape of a minor in court at the Davison County Public Safety Center. The charge, a Class C felony, is punishable upon conviction by up to life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
Dobras was arrested June 19. According to court documents, Dobras was caring for the boy in June 2016 at a West Fifth Avenue residence in Mitchell when Dobras promised to buy the boy a video game if he allowed Dobras to perform a sexual act with him, to which the boy agreed. The boy reported the alleged incident to his mother and to a forensic interviewer earlier this month.
A trial was scheduled for the second week of September.
