Police: Mount Vernon man raped 7-year-old boy in exchange for video game
A Mount Vernon man faces up to life in prison after allegedly raping a young boy in exchange for a video game.
Tyler Dobras, 27, was arrested on June 19 and charged with first-degree rape after allegedly engaging in a sexual act with a 7-year-old boy, court documents state.
According to court documents, Dobras was caring for the boy in June 2016 at a West Fifth Avenue residence in Mitchell when Dobras promised to buy the boy a video game if he allowed Dobras to perform a sexual act with him, to which the boy agreed.
The boy reported the alleged incident to his mother and to a forensic interviewer earlier this month.
Dobras was charged with first-degree rape, a Class C felony, punishable upon conviction by up to life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
Bond was set at $1,000. A court hearing was scheduled for Thursday.
