Avera to host open house for cancer survivors
To honor cancer survivors, the Avera Cancer Institute is putting on a celebration.
The National Cancer Survivor Day Open House will be held 4 to 6 p.m. June 6 at the Avera Cancer Institute in Mitchell. The institute is located at 605 N. Foster St., and the public is welcome to join in this "celebration of life," according to a press release sent by Avera.
The open house also includes an ice cream social, the opportunity for the public to create and view canvas art in partnership with Lilly Oncology and an exhibition of cancer survivor stories. All survivors in attendance will also receive a T-shirt as a special tribute.
