Officials seeking suspects in Delmont, Armour burglaries
DOUGLAS COUNTY — Law enforcement officials are seeking suspects in two burglaries, in which cash was taken from a butcher shop in Delmont and a gas station in Armour.
According to Douglas County Sheriff Jon Coler, an unknown number of people entered Blue Bird Locker, a butcher shop on Main Street in Delmont, by propping open a gate between Saturday night and Monday morning and took cash from the business.
There was no damage, but the amount of cash taken was not yet known.
In Armour, one or more suspects broke a window late Sunday night or early Monday morning at Xpress Mart on Braddock Street in Armour, Coler said.
Cash and cigarettes were taken from the business, but Coler said the value of the stolen items and cost of the damage were not yet available, though he expects to have more information on both thefts in coming days.
The sheriff's office recovered video surveillance footage from Xpress Mart and areas surrounding Blue Bird Locker, but no suspects were named, and officers do not know if the two incidents are connected.
The suspects face possible charges of burglary and theft upon apprehension. Both burglaries were reported to law enforcement on Monday, and Coler encouraged anyone with information about either theft to contact the sheriff's office.
