Sioux Falls police: Bomb threat at high school deemed hoax

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Sioux Falls police say an emailed bomb threat against Roosevelt High School was a hoax.

Lt. Dave McIntire tells The Argus Leader that investigators are still trying to determine who sent the email on Thursday.

The email was sent to the Sioux Falls School District and referenced Roosevelt High School.

Investigators did a sweep of the school and determined there were no explosive devices inside. Students and staff were not evacuated.

McIntire says making a false threat of an explosive device is a felony that could result in a sentence of two years at the state penitentiary.
