'Be My Ghost': MHS spring play shows today, Friday

Ghosts, mummies and strobe lights.

That's what audiences can expect from this year's Mitchell High School spring play, "Be My Ghost," which will show at 7:30 p.m. today and Friday in the MHS auditorium.

Director Mel Olson said the play is about a "Stephen King-kind of a writer" who moves from California to New Hampshire to lay claim to his inheritance of the Black Raven Inn.

He arrives on Halloween night, but in order to get his inheritance, he must spend a night in the "murder room," which is haunted by the spirit of a girl who was murdered there 100 years prior.

Describing the play as a "comedy thriller," Olson said there are approximately 20 students with speaking parts.

"The whole family will enjoy it," he said. "We're hoping the weather holds."

Tickets for "Be My Ghost" are $3 for students, $5 for adults, or free with district activity passes. All tickets are available at the door.
