Jed Liedtke, left, of Puetz Corp., and Dave Bechen, of Muth Electric, work Thursday on a communal living space at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell. The living space will also include a pub across the hallway and home theater. They are the last projects to be completed on the 17,000-square-foot addition to the nursing home and assisted-living facility, according to Avera Brady Administrator and CEO of Long-term Care Veronnica Smith.

The $3.2 million project, which broke ground in October 2012, is expected to be finished between the end of February and middle of March. The tentative completion date is because the crews are working in the oldest part of the building, built in 1961, and are not sure what “surprises” they might find, Smith said.
