Conservation workshop set for Wednesday
WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Jerauld County Conservation District Workshop will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Springs Inn, Wessington Springs.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the sessions beginning at 10:15 a.m. Topics covered include Cost Sharing Available with Ben Bigalke, private land wildlife biologist, and Chuck Pyle, Partners for Fish and Wildlife biologist; Agency News with Mary Johnson, CED, FSA; Donna Tiede, DC, NRCS; Challenges and Opportunities for South Dakota's Agriculture; with Dr. Barry Dunn, dean of agriculture and biological sciences, South Dakota State University, Brookings. Following the noon break, sessions will be Web Soil Survey with Lance Howe, soil Scientist, NRCS; and Top 10 List for Shelterbelts and Shrubs, with John Ball, forest health specialist, SDSU.
Pre-registration is due Jan. 9, and the storm date is Jan. 18.
