The Dakota Discovery Museum is currently hosting the exhibit "A Century of Joy: Wedding Dresses 1840 to 1940." The exhibition highlights several wedding garments and trousseau items from the Museum's Textiles Collection.

Ranging in color from ivory and ecru to lavender and brown, and spanning nearly 100 years -- 1846 to 1936 -- each of the garments is unique, yet representative of its contemporary fashions, in relation to each bride's financial or social standing or personal taste.

The exhibit will be available for viewing through Sept. 20 in the Gates Changing Gallery. The Dakota Discovery Museum is located at 1300 McGovern Ave., Mitchell. For more information call 996-2122 or visit
