Applications now taken for Miss SD Outstanding Teen

HOT SPRINGS — Applications are being accepted for at-large contestants for the Miss South Dakota’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, which will be held June 20 in Hot Springs.

The teen pageant will be held in conjunction with the weeklong pageant activities in Hot Springs, which include the Miss South Dakota Pageant preliminary competition (June 18-19) and finals (evening of June 21), and the Pageant Parade (morning of June 21).

The teen pageant is open to young women ages 13-17 who have not graduated from high school. Contestants will be judged on talent, private interview, evening wear, lifestyle and fitness in sportswear, scholastic achievement and onstage question. Contestants must live in South Dakota.

All contestants are required to select a personal platform they will promote during their year of service as a titleholder.

Pageant Executive Director Morgan Black must be notified of intent to apply as an at-large contestant by April 25, and all paperwork must be turned in by May 3.

Applying does not guarantee acceptance. If accepted, there is an entry fee for the pageant of approximately $350, which contestants may raise from sponsors.

For more information, contact Black at or 605-430-9413.
