“We are excited and proud to welcome ALABAMA and their All American Tour 2014 to the South Dakota State Fair,” said state fair manager, Jerome Hertel. “ALABAMA is a legend in the country music world so when we knew we had the opportunity to bring them to the State Fair, we had to take advantage of it. They will bring a lot of energy with their performance and put on a great show.”

ALABAMA found success in the 1980s with their youthful energy. Their number one single “Tennessee River” was the first in a string of 27 number one singles. Other hits include, “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band),” “Song of the South” and “Mountain Music”.

The band has won numerous awards, including Entertainer of the Year three times from the Country Music Association and five times from the Academy of Country Music, two Grammy’s, and RIAA’s Country Group of the Century. ALABAMA is also a member of the Country Hall of Fame.

In addition to their numerous honors and awards, ALABAMA’s youthful energy and combination of country and southern rock pioneered the way for bands for years to come.
