949 take in Diamond Rio at Corn Palace
A total of 949 people attended the Diamond Rio concert held Sunday at the Corn Palace, according to Corn Palace Director Mark Schilling.
Schilling had hoped for a crowd of 1,000 people, but said he is still pleased with the show's attendance.
"We knew right in that range was about where we were going to end up," he said.
The show could have accommodated up to 1,500 people, Schilling said.
The last time Diamond Rio, a country band, played at the Corn Palace was in 1995 during the Corn Palace Festival.
The Corn Palace will host another show at 2 p.m. Sunday when magician and illusionist Reza takes the stage. Tickets are $20 apiece.
