Avera Wellness Center offers 24-hour access

Avera Queen of Peace Wellness Center, Mitchell, has established 24-hour access for members, according to Sam Laufmann, Wellness Center coordinator.

"Over the past several years, we have been looking for ways to exceed the expectations of the Wellness Center membership," he said. "Our members have multiple commitments including family, work, school activities, sporting events, volunteering, etc., all which make it difficult to squeeze in a personal wellness time. Twenty-four-hour access will allow our members to find a convenient time to work out."

The outside doors will have electronic locks, and each member will have a personalized proximity card to use to enter the facility. That card will also have a bar code for signing into the Wellness Center by using a scanner at the front desk.

The new policy took effect on Aug.15 and does not affect membership fees.

For information, stop into the Wellness Center during staffed hours 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays.
