PARKSTON — Jake Weber and Spencer Lucas each picked up wins for the Parkston baseball team Sunday.
Weber pitched five innings of shutout baseball and led Parkston to a 2-0 victory over Hanson County.
Mitchell natives Reva and Rhennetta Bork competed in the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 14-16 held on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.
PARKTON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton had three players score 20 or more points in a 74-62 win over Parkston Friday in boys’ high school basketball action.
Jared Long had 24 points, Deric Denning finished with 23 points and Kellam Karst had 20 points for the Titans.
Jayd Docken, a sophomore for the Augustana Vikings’ No. 15-ranked wrestling squad, has gone 3-0 over the last three weeks. On Feb. 2, the Winner native pinned Northern State’s Baker Haar in two minutes, 17 seconds to help the Vikings to a 34-9 victory over the Wolves in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference meeting.
ALCESTER — Megan Bultsma recorded a double-double for the third straight game to help Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a 59-30 victory over Freeman Academy.
Bultsma scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Titans, who shot 43 percent from the field.
