A Sioux Falls-based car dealership that set up shop in the city last year established a second location in Mitchell this week.
Kelly Kramer, operator and general manager of Vern Eide in Mitchell, confirmed recently circulating rumors Tuesday that the dealership is in the process of purchasing Palace Motors.
Kramer said the sale of the business won’t be completed for three to four months. Until then, Vern Eide has a management agreement similar to that used when the dealership purchased Mitchell Ford last year.
The sale of Mitchell Ford to Sioux Falls-based Vern Eide Motorcars is weeks away from being complete, even though it was announced months ago.
Currently, both business names are still being used. When the sale is complete, the official name will become Vern Eide Ford.
“Until everything is completed, we have to have separation there,” said General Manager Kelly Kramer. “Everything is in the final stages.”
The building and land occupied in recent years by the Mitchell Ford dealership has been purchased by Sioux Falls-based Vern Eide Motorcars, which has already opened a service station on site.
The move is expected to be complete, with the business up and running, by the middle of the month, according to Kelly Kramer, operator and general manager of the new Mitchell location.
