Mitchell High School boys’ tennis coach Pat Moller is looking forward to the start of today’s state tournament play today in Rapid City.
He should, too, since it’s the first time he’s been the head coach of the boys at the state tournament.

Hegg leads Kernels at ESD meet
BRANDON — The Mitchell boys’ tennis team was interrupted Friday by rainy weather at the Eastern South Dakota Conference match in Brandon.
The Kernels were able to get through all of their singles matches, but heavy rain prevented them from finishing their doubles matches.
Play is set to resume at 9 a.m. today in Brandon.

Mitchell falls to Brandon Valley, tops Yankton
YANKTON — The Mitchell High School boys’ tennis team dropped its match with Brandon Valley 8-1 before taking down Yankton 7-2 Tuesday in Yankton.
Jacob Cersosimo, Mitchell’s No. 1 singles player, recorded the only win over Brandon Valley with a 10-6 victory against Mack Driscoll.
Cersosimo dropped his second match of the day 10-8 to Yankton’s Luke Rockne.

Mitchell tennis falls to Sioux Falls Lincoln 8-1
SIOUX FALLS — The Mitchell High School boys’ tennis team fell 8-1 to Sioux Falls Lincoln Monday.
Mitchell was swept in singles and picked up one win in doubles.
The No. 3 doubles team of Beau Brown and Brenden Lehr picked up Mitchell’s sole win, beating out Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Dan Shultz and Doni Patel 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5.

SIOUX FALLS — After dropping two of its three doubles matches, the Mitchell High School boys’ tennis team bounced back by winning all six singles matches in a 7-2 win over Sioux Falls Roosevelt Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
