Sherwin Linton still clearly remembers that momentous, possibly life-altering decision he made in Watertown in 1957.
Linton parked his car at the intersection of highways 81 and 212, unsure if he should drive east to attend a radio announcers’ school in Minneapolis or turn south and try his luck in Memphis.
Linton was only 18 but he was already an aspiring musician. He had been playing guitar for a decade, had his own radio show on a Watertown station and was playing dances and other events around the state.
