PIERRE — Attorney General Marty Jackley and Hanson County Sheriff Randy Bartlett are warning South Dakotans to be cautious of cold calls from individuals who claim to be state or county officials requesting payment for debts owed to these entities.
The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office is warning consumers not to fall prey to a robo-call credit-card scam.
The office’s Consumer Protection Division reports that South Dakota consumers are receiving automated calls offering to reduce the interest rate on their credit card, or claiming there is a problem with the consumer’s credit card.
