The state of South Dakota is piloting a new case management system for criminal and civil records, a process that will cost between $11 million and $12 million but could eventually provide public access to online court documents.
ALEXANDRIA — The new Hanson County Courthouse is taking shape a year after residents approved a $3.4 million bond issue for its construction.
Wet weather this summer and fall delayed the 19,000-square-foot project by four to six weeks, but crews are catching up. They plan to work through the winter, setting up shelters as needed to protect workers from the elements.
ALEXANDRIA — When the time came to discuss construction of a new courthouse in Alexandria, Tom Bell said he wasn’t sure how a bond issue would go over with residents of Hanson County.
But when the bond passed overwhelmingly, Bell said he knew the public was behind the project.
