Chris Miller, 39, was given the mandatory sentence of life in prison for second-degree murder for the March 2011 death of his 4-month-old son, Jacob. He was sentenced Friday morning by Judge Glen Eng at the Bon Homme County Courthouse in Tyndall.
After deliberating Wednesday afternoon and apparently into the evening, a Turner County jury found Chris Miller, 39, guilty of second-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection with the March 2011 death of his four-month-old son Jacob.

TYNDALL — A judge approved extra investigation expenses and gave the defense permission to hire an expert witness Wednesday during a hearing in the case of Chris Miller, the Scotland man accused of killing his infant son.
Chris Miller, director of Mitchell High School’s Friend de Coup show choir, will bring home some glittering hardware Sunday.
Miller, 34, received the “Best New Show Choir Director” award Friday at the FAME Aspire awards banquet at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Ind. The event was part of the National Show Choir Championships weekend.
