The cities of Mitchell and Oacoma will be among 13 communities to soon receive new signs and markers for their recreational trails.The new signs from the Healthy South Dakota initiative will perform the dual job of promoting physical activity and the use of local trails.

River City Racin' canceled due to flood conditions

Attempt arises to nix funds for study on Missouri River
The head of the Missouri River Association of States and Tribes hopes a letter composed by Missouri lawmakers urging Congress to halt funding for a study about the Missouri River will not affect the project.“We think there’s sufficient support, and some key people are backing the study,” said David Pope, the association’s executive director. “I think there’s a very strong chance that it will be funded this year, but you never know until Congress acts for sure.”
