Monday Area Basketball: Pierce's big night leads Hanson
ALEXANDRIA — Pierce Smith had a triple-double in the Hanson High School boys’ basketball team’s 67-40 win against Freeman on Monday. Smith scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds and 10 assists for Hanson (9-5). Reid Smith led Hanson with 15 points and Jacob Bartscher added 13 points as the Beavers shot 49 percent and forced 19 turnovers. Chet Hermson led Freeman (1-12) with nine points and the Flyers shot 43 percent.
