Post 22 looking to repeat
Among the majority of coaches at today’s Class A state Legion baseball tournament, the consensus is the same. The defending state champion is the favorite. Rapid City Post 22 defeated Rapid City Post 320 in last year’s state championship under the direction of longtime manager Dave Ploof. Ploof, who’s been with Post 22 since 1965, has more than 2,400 career wins, 33 state championships and his 1993 team won the Legion World Series. At 5 p.m. today, Post 22 (43-11) starts its title defense against Sioux Falls West (17-34) in the first round of the Class A state Legion tournament at Cadwell Park.By Luke Hagen , July 28, 2010
