Tiger men, Bellet set school records at Okoboji 
OKOBOJI, Iowa — The Dakota Wesleyan men’s and women’s golf team each had records set Sunday at the 18-hole Iowa Lakes Spring Invite.
The event was hosted by Iowa Lakes Community College at Brooks National in Okoboji, Iowa.
The DWU men set a school record for an 18-hole team score, and Dani Bellet broke her own school record for an 18-hole individual score.
Shooting a 286 to break the old score by a single stroke, the Tiger men took second place at the meet. Kirkwood Community College shot a 283 for the win.
As a team, DWU was 2-over-par. Senior Nick Gates tied for third place with a 1-under-par 70, Tyler Evenson tied for fifth with an even par and Adam Shiffermiller was seventh with a 72. Chris Pritchard shot a 2-over-par 73 for eighth.

DWU's Anderson's recruiting abroad 
While on a weeklong recruiting trip earlier this week to Dakota Wesleyan University, Josh Hope — a native of Hinkley, England — hit his first-ever hole-in-one.
The achievement may have helped persuade Hope, as he has since signed with the Tigers and will be part of the men’s golf team next year.
Hope, 18, isn’t the first golfer DWU men’s and women’s golf coach Adam Anderson has looked abroad to recruit.

Fossum takes 13th at nationals 
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Dakota Wesleyan junior Derik Fossum tied his personal best and took 13th overall in the triple jump Saturday at the NAIA indoor track and field national championships in Johnson City, Tenn.
Fossum, a Canton native, jumped 46-feet-8.75 inches, which matches the distance that won the Great Plains Athletic Conference title last month. The jump is also the second best in school history. The school record in 47-feet-4.75 inches, set in 1974.

Dakota Wesleyan earns No. 7 seed in national tournament 
The Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball team earned the No. 7 seed at the NAIA national tournament, it was announced Wednesday.
The Tigers held a selection celebration on the DWU campus Wednesday afternoon to not only learn who they would play and when, but also to celebrate the team’s all-Great Plains Athletic Conference nominees.
