Experience matters and it showed Saturday at the Corn Palace as the Corsica/Stickney girls’ basketball team hit key fourth-quarter free throws to defeat Kimball/White Lake 54-43 and claim the District 10B championship.
The Jaguars made 14-of-20 fourth quarter free throws to pull out the win and raise their record to 13-8.

SALEM — Bridgewater-Emery defeated Freeman Academy 40-36 on Saturday in the first round of girls’ District 7B action.
Bridgewater-Emery was led by Liz Schnabel, who had a double-double for the game scoring a game-high 21 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Justine Dye added 14 points.

ETHAN — Kimball/White Lake had four players score in double figures to narrowly defeat Ethan 68-67 Friday in a boys’ basketball game.
Jacob Kirsch scored 17 points and had nine rebounds for Kimball/White Lake. Kyle Peters scored 16 points. Jesse Taylor scored 14 points. Trevor Reinesch scored 12 points and had five assists.
