Platte-Geddes tops Wagner for 10A title
PLATTE — Platte-Geddes defeated Wagner 52-35 in the boys’ District 10A championship game Saturday.
Platte-Geddes head coach Frank Cutler said it was a tight contest until late in the game, when his team was able to break away for the win.
“It was fairly close early, we didn’t bump it up until late in the third quarter,” Cutler said.

Jaguars beat WiLdKats for District 10B championship
Experience matters and it showed Saturday at the Corn Palace as the Corsica/Stickney girls’ basketball team hit key fourth-quarter free throws to defeat Kimball/White Lake 54-43 and claim the District 10B championship.
The Jaguars made 14-of-20 fourth quarter free throws to pull out the win and raise their record to 13-8.

Hanson was able to hang on to defeat Avon 45-42 on Tuesday at the Corn Palace in high schools girls’ District 11B semifinal action.
The game was close throughout and Hanson trailed by two heading into the final quarter.

SALEM — Bridgewater-Emery defeated Freeman Academy 40-36 on Saturday in the first round of girls’ District 7B action.
Bridgewater-Emery was led by Liz Schnabel, who had a double-double for the game scoring a game-high 21 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Justine Dye added 14 points.
