WASHINGTON — Three years ago, the Supreme Court warned there could be constitutional problems with a landmark civil rights law that has opened voting booths to millions of African-Americans. Now, opponents of a key part of the Voting Rights Act are asking the high court to finish off that provision.
There’s plenty of information out this week about what liberals refer to as the Republican “war on voting” — that is, efforts to use essentially nonexistent voting fraud as an excuse to restrict the franchise.
PIERRE — In an effort to reduce costs and make voting easier, South Dakota lawmakers are pushing a bill through the House that establishes vote centers as the go-to locations for casting ballots in the state.
