PARKSTON — The Parkston Mudcats defeated the Mitchell Mad Dogs 11-0 Thursday night in eight innings in Sunshine League amateur baseball action.
Brady Nolz picked up the win for the Mudcats. He gave up four hits, struck out 13 and walked two.
The Platte amateur baseball team defeated the Mitchell Mad Dogs 20-4 in seven innings Friday in a Sunshine League game.
Platte’s Audie Kuipers was 6-for-6 with a triple, two doubles and three singles, Grant Olson and Frank Cutler each had three singles and Keith Cutler had a triple and two singles.

A combination of Trey Krier’s pitching and the wind aided the Yankton Tappers’ 6-0 win over the Mitchell Mad Dogs in a first-round game of the Class A amateur baseball district tournament Tuesday at Drake Field.
The Mitchell Mad Dogs were just coming off a close loss to the Parkston Mudcats, the only team that has defeated the Mad Dogs this year.
After falling behind early, the Mad Dogs battled back to 8-7 before Parkston shut the door in the ninth for a 13-10 win.
