PIERRE — Rusty Foster already sold some of his cows and may have to sell more because of the yearlong drought that hit much of the state, but recent rains have helped lift his spirits and those of his neighbors in northwestern South Dakota’s Perkins County.
PIERRE (AP) — Drought conditions in much of South Dakota have improved because of the past month's early spring storms, but it's not enough to recharge the deeper levels of soil, a state climatologist said Monday.
The Sioux Falls-based company during the downtime made about $14 million in upgrades, including adding a more efficient evaporator, a new administration building and scale house and a new control system.
