BROOKINGS — The Mitchell girls’ tennis team spilt a pair of matches in Brookings Saturday. The Kernels defeated Brookings 9-0 but lost to Watertown 6-3 Megan Solberg (No. 2), Kendra Cersosimo (No. 3) and Mitchell’s No. 1 doubles team all won both of their matches on the day.August 30, 2010

Kernels open season today 
With a completely healthy roster, the Mitchell girls’ tennis team opens its season today.
The Kernels — who host a triangular against Rapid City Central and Vermillion at 12:30 p.m. today — return all of their players from last year’s team, which went 10-8 and took 12th at the state tournament.
