Kimball to host Desperado Days this weekend

KIMBALL — Area residents can take in bull riding, mounted shooting or a quickdraw contest at the third annual Desperado Days in Kimball this weekend.
Bull riding at 7 p.m. today is one of the festival’s new events, said Tracey Orsburn, White Lake/Kimball marketing director. The Northern Bull Riding Tour will feature 28 riders competing at the rodeo grounds. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate.

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — A state regulatory board gave its approval Tuesday to a wind farm of up to 110 turbines in southeast South Dakota. The PrairieWinds project would be built by Bismarck, N.D.-based Basin Electric Power Cooperative on 37,000 acres between White Lake and Wessington Springs.
