Ethan squad reuniting today Fifty years ago, Chamberlain beat Ethan in the Region 6 championship game at the Corn Palace to earn a trip to the high school boys’ state basketball tournament. Dan McBrayer remembers that game for many reasons. For one, it was a one-point game. Chuck Yates hit a pair of free throws late in the game to give Chamberlain a 47-46 edge over the Rustlers. For another, it would have been Ethan’s first trip to state since 1951.

Mathis honored in Dimock DIMOCK — If you ask Ruby Mathis, it isn’t hard to understand why the Ethan Teeners baseball team is dedicating its first-ever season to her late son, Terry. “He loved all sports,” Ruby Mathis said Wednesday evening after the opening ceremonies of Ethan’s inaugural home game at Dimock Field. “But (Terry) also loved children. And not just for the things they did in school, but anything they did outside of it.”
