Area athletes win Knights of Columbus state free-throw contest By The Daily Republic CHAMBERLAIN — Three area youth athletes won state titles at the South Dakota Knights of Columbus state free throw contest earlier this month. The event was held March 3 at the St. Joseph’s Indian School gymnasium. Forty-three boys and girls, ages 10-14, throughout the state competed against their peers in the same age group for the top five or six places.

DWU baseball, softball make schedule changes By The Daily Republic Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball and softball teams’ schedules have been altered. The baseball team’s home opener vs. Valley City State University, originally scheduled to be a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday, has been canceled. The Tigers are scheduled to host Briar Cliff University Thursday.
