The 42nd annual Corn Palace Invitational golf tournament begins today with an 11 a.m. shotgun start at Wild Oak Golf Course in Mitchell. Players were able to play a warm-up round Thursday with the first round of scoring being counted today and the final round starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.

City golf tournament: Meyerink knotches fourth championship
After back-to-back runner-up finishes, Jeff Meyerink was finally able to claim his fourth title in Mitchell’s city golf tournament. In a summer where he has dealt with continuous pain in his right knee, Meyerink put a brace on it and shot a 66 Sunday at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell to finish with a two-day total of 142 and come out on top of the championship field of 13 players.
