GLAD YOU ASKED: Animal ordinances apply to all animals in general
Q. With all the city ordinances Mitchell has for dogs, are there any for cows, horses, goats or other animals? Dog owners have tickets and fines for everything. Why not the owners of these other animals as well?

GLAD YOU ASKED: Golf cart drivers must have license
Q. We live in a small community and would like to know if it is legal for someone to drive around on a golf cart with binoculars and stop and check out yards. Trust me, they’re not looking for their dog.

Glad You Asked: Wheelchair seating offered at stadium
Q. Where are wheelchair-bound people supposed to sit during football games at Joe Quintal Field? Near as I can tell, the only place is on the west side of the bleachers, but it’s right in the midst of the band, where nobody my age would want to be. That doesn’t seem like a good place to sit. Are there other places to sit for those in wheelchairs?

GLAD YOU ASKED: Emergency plan in place for construction areas
Q. I live on Seventh Avenue near Minnesota Street. Because of the street reconstruction, I have no access to my home. I have to park on a different street and walk to my house. What would happen if there was an emergency, like a medical situation or a fire, at one of the blocked-off homes? How would emergency responders get access to the home? Also, why is this project happening now with school about to start at the middle school just up the street and traffic sure to be affected by the construction?

GLAD YOU ASKED: Ruts to remain awhile at church
Q: There’s a mess in the yard at Holy Family Church after some work was done on the building. Some of the grass is dead and there are ruts in the ground. When will that be cleaned up?

GLAD YOU ASKED: New one-way street paint could confuse
Q: Since the one-way-street controversy has been put to rest, I note the city’s street department has painted arrows at some of the intersections of the affected streets — a well-appreciated effort. As a resident I have no question of the meaning of these arrows; however, if I were in a town I was not accustomed to, I may have second thoughts. Does this mean I should only go straight ahead, or do I have the option of turning right or left?

GLAD YOU ASKED: Chamber working on plans for Kinders building
Q. Since the city and county seem to enjoy buying old buildings and remodeling them rather than build new, I’m wondering what’s happening with the old Kinder’s building. Didn’t they buy that for a tourist info place and maybe move the chamber there?
