Calvin Winkel, Foley, Ala.

Calvin Winkel, 87, Foley, Ala., formerly of Emery, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at William F. Green Veterans Home, Bay Minette, Ala.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1925.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Mennonite Church, Bridgewater. Burial will be in Emery Community Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Home, Mitchell.

He was born to Otto and Fannie (Meinerts) Winkel.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; five children: Tamara (Allen) Rose, Foley; Arleen Roth, Mitchell; Debra (Melvin) Stahl, Bridgewater; Becky (James) Gales, Greeley, Colo.; and Kim (Dianne) Winkel, Austin, Texas; two stepchildren: Charles (Peggy) Groen and Lois Johnson; two sisters: Janelle (William) Nichols and Myra Pence; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
