Grace Suelflow, 91, White Lake, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the Avera Platte Health Center.

She was born Sept. 28, 1921.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 SUELFLOW a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in White Lake.

Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Grace Minnie Clara Suelflow was born to Arthur and Anna (Ketelhut) Bogenhagen at the family farm south of White Lake. She attended grade school at St. John’s Parochial School in Gales Township and White Lake Public School. She graduated from White Lake High School in 1940. She attended Southern State Normal School for one year, and then taught country school near Lake Andes for two years.

On June 6, 1943, she married Arnold Suelflow at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural White Lake. They farmed south of White Lake until they moved into White Lake in 1981. She was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the Senior Citizens, Fortnightly Club and Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed playing cards and gardening. She had been a resident of the Aurora Brule Nursing Home since 2012.

She is survived by her two sons, Dean (Susan) Suelflow of White Lake and Wayne (Sharon) Suelflow of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren: Abby (Justin) Brammer of Fort Worth, Texas, Lindsay (Wendall) Hoffman of White Lake, Lucas (Lindsey) Suelflow of Little Elm, Texas, Reid (Jane) Suelflow of Mitchell, Kelsey (Christopher) Maeschen of Baltic, Melanie Suelflow of Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren: Kate Brammer, Jack Suelflow and Radley Maeschen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold in 2003, three sisters: Stella Pavlis; Viola Ehrlich, and infant Augusta, two brothers, Lawrence Bogenhagen and Louis Bogenhagen.
