She was born on Dec. 31, 1911.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sun Prairie Baptist Church, rural Salem.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Hazel Lorene Anderson was born to John Andrew Anderson and Hannah Olivia Pearson in Salem.
She grew up in the Salem area, where she attended and graduated from high school.
On March 18, 1936, she married Clarence Klingberg at her parents’ home in rural Salem.
They lived in the Salem area, where Clarence farmed and Hazel was his helpmate and a stay-at-home mom.
Hazel was a member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aide, but her real passion was her love for crafts.
She enjoyed creating her masterpieces from scraps of this and that, that other people would throw away. Neighbors often mention her homemade bread. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her 10 grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by two sons, Wayne (Vicki), Greenwood, Ind.; and Dale (Karen), Salem; one daughter, Marla (Richard) Snyder, Morro Bay, Calif.; 10 grandchildren: Jeffrey (Melissa), Debra (Bryan) Fox, Steven (Pam), Julie (Eric) Foust, Daniel, Tahnil (Terry) Davis, Tim Snyder, Sara (Chris) Godding, Heidi (Jeff)Anderson and David (Jamie); 18 great-grand-children; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Arlan; two sisters: Ethel and Alice; and daughter-inlaw, Brenda Klingberg.
